An exceptionally elegant antique writing desk, beautifully crafted in richly figured wood with delicate marquetry and fine line inlay throughout. The raised superstructure features twin cabinet doors decorated with classical urn motifs, opening to reveal a charming arrangement of pigeonholes and compartments for letters and stationery.
The writing surface is inset with sumptuous burgundy tooled leather, while a concealed section opens to reveal an original-style pen and quill tray ā a wonderful glimpse into the romance of traditional writing. Finished with beautifully proportioned drawers, brass ring handles, slender inlaid legs and castors.
