Late Georgian Chest of Drawers
A distinguished example of late Georgian craftsmanship, this fine bow-front chest of drawers dates to circa 1790–1810 and exemplifies the understated elegance of the period. Constructed from rich, well-figured mahogany, the chest features spacious graduated drawers, each adorned with original oval brass backplates bearing the iconic Prince of Wales feathers—an emblem of patriotism during the reign of George III. Please note, one drawers pull is missing from the plate.
The hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawer sides attest to the skilled cabinetmaking of the era, while the softly curving bow front and splayed bracket feet reflect refined Georgian proportions and design.
Carefully restored, this chest is ideal for collectors and interiors seeking authentic 18th-century English character. A true antique with timeless appeal.
